Understanding California’s New Fertility Law

Join us for a breakdown on California’s new fertility law, SB 729, which requires employers of a certain size to cover fertility treatments.

Join us for a breakdown on California’s new fertility law, SB 729, which requires employers of a certain size to cover fertility treatments and services, including 3 egg retrievals and unlimited embryo transfers. Fertility treatments must be provided to LGBTQ+ individuals and solo parents. Open enrollment is happening now, so we want to make sure that everyone knows their options.

Led by Rachel Schiff and Lyla Bugara, queer lawyers based in CA of femme & femme LLP. Bring your questions and invite your friends!

About femme & femme LLP:

We provide LGBTQ+ clients and allies with heart-centered legal services during important events in their life, from birth to death.

As queer people, we understand our collective safety and wellbeing does not start or end with the law. And as experienced attorneys, we recognize the law currently plays a significant role in determining which types of families are protected and which are not, as well as how resources are passed generationally.

Whether you are expanding your family to include a little one or want to ensure chosen loved ones are at your bedside if your health turns, we are here to help. We see family protection law and estate planning as part of a much larger practice to honor the dignity and self-determination of queer & trans people. We all deserve to create the families our hearts yearn for and to plan and protect our families (chosen and bio) during our lifetime and beyond.

As queer nonbinary femmes, we delight in working with our community and we serve anyone in need of a compassionate and skilled legal team.

Free tickets available. All queers and allies welcome.

MORE ABOUT PREGNANTTOGETHER:

Hi! I am Marea Goodman, LM, CPM (they/them), a licensed midwife, published author, and parent. I have over thirteen years of experience working with folks who are pregnant or trying to get pregnant, and am also the founder of PregnantTogether— because I’m deeply passionate about supporting queer folks and solo parents through the whole process of growing their families, and building community in the process.

Note: your first two weeks of membership to our PregnantTogether community is FREE and only $20/mo thereafter with no commitment. This and all future events are always free for community members. In the community you can connect with other pregnant people or folks trying to conceive, receive advice for your virtual midwife (me!) and attend all PregnantTogether events and workshops like this one for free! You’ll also get access to TONS of recorded resources that will make this journey less overwhelming. The community is a nurturing, resourceful, and safe place for queer folks, solo parents, and anyone who has ever felt like they don’t belong in the dominant narrative of what “family” should be.

If you'd like to join the community and receive FREE access to this and all future events, head to community.pregnanttogether.com and sign up. Don't purchase a ticket here! Joining the community gets you free access.
